Macbeth: info for Schools and Teachers
School groups studying the play will be provided with a teachers pack and performances can beaccompanied by a post show Q &A on request. The Company is also offering educational workshop options (see below). Workshops can be scheduled at the venue for the day of performance or arrangements can be made for members of the company to visit school at a convenient time. (running time between 1hr-1hr 30mins). Workshop Options
Language, Structure and Form (English and Drama)
In this practical session members of the company will lead students through games and exercises intended to help unlock the imagery and literary devices of Shakespeare’s Language. Particular emphasis will be placed on the evocative nature on rhythm and imagery and the impact they can have on both speaker and listener.
Dramatic Devices and how they inform Character and Relationships (English and Drama)
This workshop will provide an opportunity for students to work with members of the company on their approach to creating characters and building believable relationships with others actors. Exercises will help students define clear connection of the dramatic devices and form used by Shakespeare with the performance choices that actors make
Performance Technique/Directorial Technique in Dramatic Storytelling (Drama)
This workshop is Ideal for groups looking to develop their creative understanding of the plays themes and structure. Through practical play with the story of Macbeth members of the company will demonstrate how ‘Quarter Too’ approach the act of storytelling. Collaborating imaginatively to generate ideas for performance.
